Users who wish to be anonymous in Alta Access must have their personally identifiable information (PII) deleted by their Alta Access web app administrator.

These instructions apply to users created in Alta Access. If a user account is synced by Alta Access web app using an identity provider integration (Azure AD or Okta, for example), any changes must be made within that third-party platform.

To anonymize an Alta Access web app user:

  1. Sign in to alta.avigilon.com/signin and select the organization in your region.

  2. Go to Users > Users. Click the user to edit their details.

  3. Change the email address to a fake email.

We recommend using Avigilon Alta ’s designated domain for anonymous emails, for example, user@noemail.avigilon.com.

  4. Delete any PII, including First and Last Name.

  5. Delete the user’s photo by clicking on the photo and selecting Delete. Confirm the deletion.

Once anonymous, the user can continue to:
  • Use their mobile credential to access entries.

  • Use their key card or fob to access entries.

However, without a valid email address, the user will not be able to:

  • Re-provision their mobile credential on their current device or a new device.

  • Sign in to the Alta Access web app, assuming they had admin access.
